Nature adventures

The youngest National Park in Germany extends over the hills between Idar-Oberstein, Birkenfeld, Hermeskeil, Morbach and Nonnweiler in Saarland. Between old tree populations, hillside moors and quartzite scree, pristine and unspoilt nature stretches out over an area of 10,000 hectares. When hiking through the National Park with one of the National Park guides, nature enthusiasts discover the forest, its flora and fauna in a completely new way. Or how about a night in the forest at a trekking camp?

In the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park and the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, hikers can experience unspoilt, intact woodlands interspersed with rocky streams in a unique river and low mountain landscape. Many protected animal and plant species are at home here. In the Nature Parks, the landscape is a retreat, recreation area and adventure playground all at the same time.
