Embark on the "Hildegard von Bingen Pilgrimage Trail" and walk in the footsteps of the saint through the land of Hildegard, past various stations in the life of probably the most famous personality of the Middle Ages.
The 135-kilometer pilgrimage trail begins in Idar-Oberstein and continues via Niederhosenbach, the family seat and possible birthplace of Hildegard von Bingen, to Bad Sobernheim. Not far from here is the Disibodenberg monastery ruins, where the saint spent the first 40 years of her important life.
