The world's first contemporary Stone Sculpture Museum was created in Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg against the majestic backdrop of the Rotenfels and in a natural landscape according to the plans of the world-famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The stone sculptures from all five continents, created by Wolfgang Kubach and Anna Kubach-Wilmsen, visualise stone history in a whole new context.
The artists' hallmark is their stone books. Besides the 15 large-scale sculptures, the exhibition also features around 60 other sculptures. Architect Tadao Ando combined contemporary concrete construction with historic half-timbering for this highly acclaimed museum.
